A trip aboard a houseboat is a royal way to experience the backwaters of Kochi, Kumarakom and Alleppey. Cruise along the narrow canals enjoying a view to the rice paddies, lush foliage and backwater villages. At nightfall you will be cloaked in the magic of the backwaters and sleep to the sound of the waters lapping the wooden hull.

Inside

• Style: Rustic Indian pleasure boat. Fully furnished and beautifully decked out to provide passengers with a luxury cruise, the houseboats are traditional Kettuvallums (or rice boats) made from natural fibres including coconut husks, bamboo and woven palms.
• Bedrooms and Bathrooms: One or two bedroom houseboats are available (choose from doubles and twins). All bedrooms are spacious with private verandas and en suites (containing a shower, WC and sink).
• For relaxation: Being waited on hand-and-foot as you cruise through the exotic scenery, everything about the experience is relaxing. For the ultimate chill-out, recline on the open-air day bed on the bow of the houseboat and watch the sunset give way to the starry sky.
• For recreation: Disembark and stretch your legs in local villages where you can visit traditional teahouses and rice paddies.
• Practicalities: Solar panels provide electricity. Air-conditioned boats are available at an extra cost.

• In-house cuisine: Feast on home-cooked local cuisine cooked by your on-board chef (vegetarian options available). A traditional Keralan breakfast is accompanied by fresh fruit, juice, tea and coffee.

• On the map: The cruises start from the historic town of Alleppey - the gateway to the backwaters. 
• By car: Alleppey is about 90km south of Cochin
• By train: Alleppey train station is only 6km from the start point of the houseboat cruises.
•  By air: The nearest airport is Cochin, about 90km away. A taxi or car and driver can be arranged to meet you.
